About This Project

Help us educate and entertain the next generation of Atlanta classical music lovers--and bring Atlanta students to our public chamber music concerts this season!

With your support, we'll beat the bushes at Atlanta Public Schools to find interested middle and high school students and offer them free concert tickets for themselves and an accompanying adult--a parent, music teacher, or friend.

With generous matching funds from the City of Atlanta's Office of Cultural Affairs, your donor dollars will have an immediate impact! We'll offer free tickets to our concerts in Atlanta to as many as 150 students plus accompanying adults this season.

We think a couple of this season's concerts will especially appeal to students: the exciting competition concerts of our national Rapido!® Composition Contest---Semi-Finals on October 14, 2012 and National Finals on January 20, 2013.The audience is present for the performance of the competing works, the judging and the announcement of the winning composers. And leading up to the Finals competition, audiences nationwide will be invited to vote online for their favorite Finalist piece to choose the winner of the Audience Favorite Prize.

Studies have shown that involvement in chamber music helps kids increase test scores and promotes academic achievement. They'll be:
  • 4 times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement
  • 3 times more likely to be elected to class office within their schools
  • 4 times more likely to participate in a math and science fair
  • 3 times more likely to win an award for school attendance

Now that’s a return on investment!! Your donation of as little as $5 can provide a free concert ticket to an APS student--we hope you'll support us in bringing lots of students to our concerts.

You can send APS students our way, too, or suggest APS middle or high schools to contact. Send us word at
