About This Project

Each summer, the dancers of North Carolina Dance Theatre spend eight weeks in residency at the renowned Chautauqua Institution in New York. During this time, the Company presents four performances with an average of 10 world premieres by guest and resident choreographers. While in Chautauqua, the artists are challenged physically and emotionally as they quickly learn new works to perform for enthusiastic, full audiences. Dance Theatre’s choreographers including Mark Diamond and Sasha Janes use this time to workshop their try out their ideas, gain audience reaction, and tweak and change their work to become the full ballets you see and love here in Charlotte.

Our artists leave for Chautauqua on June 17. We need your support getting them there!

The time is now – your donation can assist in flying the dancers to perform. This wonderful opportunity will help Dance Theatre touch Chautauqua Institution audiences and provide them with an experience that evokes emotion, inspiration and awe. Every dollar makes a difference!

Project Budget:

Flight for 16 dancers, 2 production team members and Associate Artistic Director Sasha Janes - $8,930 ($470 per flight)

Power2give Administrative fee – $1,070

Total Fundraising Goal: $10,000
