About the Project

BronzeLens Film Festival is celebrating its sixth year as we gather November 5-8, 2015, in Atlanta, GA.

It was created to be a multicultural festival showcasing the talent of the next generation of filmmakers and also promoting the growth of production in Georgia. We have grown from a four day event to a year round presenter of screenings and workshops recognized locally, nationally and internationally.

Highlights include:

* becoming a charter member of the African American Film Festival Releasing Movement (AFFRM/ARRAY) after our first festival. This unique distribution model created by filmmaker Ava DuVernay has enabled us to be supportive of quality independent films and a member of a national network of leading film festivals for people of color.

* curating films for the 2014 and 2015 State Farm Neighborhood Awards with thousands of audience participants.

* actively partnering with a wide variety of organizations including the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, Africa Atlanta, Hammonds House, France Atlanta, the Atlanta University Center colleges, SCAD, Atlanta Technical College, Autism Speaks, and environmental organizations to name a few.

* conducting dynamic panels regarding careers behind the lens at Atlanta Technical College and Asheville-Buncombe Technical College.

* recognizing women of color for their accomplishments in the film and TV industries during our signature annual Women Super Stars luncheon.

* screening hundreds of films from Georgia, the United States and the world.

* programming panels, master classes, and workshops that include accomplished professionals from all aspects of the entertainment industry.

* underwriting a discounted festival pass for college students.

How you can help!

While crucial sponsorships and grants help underwrite BL we are seeking expanded opportunities to help finance our programming. This Power 2 Give campaign would enable us to have greater resources. The money raised would go towards operation, promotion and venue fees. This year we plan to:

* expand our reach to the Atlanta business community so that they can see what it takes to be a camera-ready vendor and benefit from the multi-billion dollar influx of spending for film and TV production in the state.

* continue to develop our Student Track.

* provide free or low cost sessions such as the Locations bus tour, and the Family Film Series with animation producer/actress Karyn Parsons to name a few.

* offer dynamic panels and workshops to Elevate, Evolve and Create seasoned and upcoming filmmakers in all phases of the TV and film industries.

* showcase the creative uniqueness of Atlanta, Georgia.

We want 2015 to be an exceptional year for BronzeLens! In order to achieve our goals we need you and would love your support!!
