Support AE to host this amazing, award-winning playwright

About the Project

Atlanta, 1979. The Atlanta Child Murders grip the entire city. Single mother Vivian copes with the disappearance of her young son while working tirelessly to give a fresh start to her troubled teenage daughter. When a handsome stranger enters her life with promises of new love, she soon learns that nothing is as it seems. This award-winning play by one of America’s most promising young playwrights pulses to life with extraordinary grace and raw emotional power.

Janine Nabers' brave, engaging and riveting play comes to Atlanta through Actor's Express. We have the privilege of bringing Janine with it. With Janine here during the rehearsal and run period of SERIAL BLACK FACE, we have a unique opportunity to directly engage the community to which this play speaks, with the playwright.
AE wants to host playwriting workshops for local youth,  conversations and community engagement activities centered around this play-all hosted by its extraordinary writer.
In conjunction with this, AE wants to offer tickets to our community members to experience this play free of charge.

To accomplish all this? We need your support.

Your donation will be matched dollar for dollar by the City of Atlanta and will go directly to covering the costs associated with ticket giveaways, staff hours, coordination of community events, supplies for youth workshops, and supporting Janine's stay in Atlanta.

Opportunities like this don't come around very often. Janine Nabers has written a play that speaks directly to a time in our community that changed it forever.
