Man-eating plants don’t grow themselves. AE’s Audrey II needs sunlight, blood and your money!

About the Project

Down on Skid Row, budding botanist Seymour Krelbourn is down on his luck and secretly in love with his coworker Audrey. When he discovers a new species of plant that promises him unending fame and fortune, he thinks all his problems are solved – the only catch is the plant is a bloodthirsty carnivore bent on world domination!

Coming in summer 2017, Actor’s Express presents a horrifically hilarious production of the Off-Broadway hit Little Shop of Horrors. To bring you the absolute best production, we have to build the Audrey II to devour all other Twoeys. But plants (and everything they need to thrive) are expensive. Here’s what we need to bring you a top-of-the line Audrey II:

  • The Voice $2,250 - We’ve got to pay an actor to bring the R&B stylings of Audrey II to life.
  • The Puppeteer $2,250 - Audrey II is a puppet like no other, and someone’s got to control her.
  • The Caretaker $2,250 - Audrey II needs a devoted caretaker to help her grow, and there’s no one better than our favorite botanist Seymour Krelbourn.
  • The Puppet $2,000 - Throughout the show Audrey II goes from a seedling to a giant man-eating plant. That means we’ve got to build four puppets from scratch.
  • The Flower Shop $1,250 - Audrey II needs the perfect home to grown in, and there’s no place like Mushnik's Skid Row Florists.
Actor’s Express strives to bring daringly provocative and audaciously hilarious theatre to Atlanta. Help us build the best bloodthirsty plant out there so that Little Shop of Horrors will be next summer’s big hit musical.

Don't forget! All donations will be matched 1:1 by the City of Atlanta Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs.
