Help us expand the scope of the projects and light them into the night.

About the Project

From September 27 - 30, Flux Projects will present a new iteration of its popular Flux Night, now on view over several days and placed this year in historic Grant Park.  Four Atlanta artists are leading projects: Rachel K. Garceau, Rebecca M. K. Makus, Iman Person, and Lauri Stallings.  Their works examine the health, history, and ecosystem of the park, while encouraging the public to explore its nooks and crannies, and revel in its sublime beauty.

We would like to expand the scope of the projects and light them into the night.

What does your funding support?
100% of your support goes toward funding artists to expand the scope of their projects and toward lighting to make the works visible into the night.

Impact of your gift
We knew we had commissioned four ambitious artists for FLUX, but we marvel at the breadth of what they have envisioned.  We want the artists to realize the works to their fullest and be appropriately compensated for their time and talents.  All too often artists deliver amazing works because they have shouldered the burden of self-financing the gap between their vision and the funding.  With your help Flux Projects can increase funding so their visions are fully realized.

About Flux Projects
Flux Projects engages Atlanta’s public spaces with temporary art projects that transform people, places, and communities.
  • We invest in Art for Arts Sake, believing that art has the ability to open minds, spark innovation, foster empathy, and inspire humanity.
  • We create Transformative Experiences that help us transcend boundaries and find novel ways to experience our city and each other.
  • We serve as a Creative Glue that connects the city through shared experiences in public spaces, the arts community through collaborations, and Atlanta artists to new opportunities.
  • We shape how Atlanta is viewed by letting artists tell its story and cultivate its identity locally and globally.

About Grant Park
Established in 1883, Grant Park today houses a pool, playground, basketball and tennis courts, Zoo Atlanta, and the Grant Park Recreation Center, and is home to the Grant Park Farmers Market and a variety of festivals.  Once neglected, Grant Park is being restored as a cherished greenspace through the tireless work of the Grant Park Conservancy.  This park has earned its nickname “The People’s Playground.”  Flux Projects invites you now to come look and listen and reconnect to park's natural beauty.
